Hello! 👋 I’m Rebecca Wollenhaupt, and I’m honored to serve as your 2025–2026 SMPS Northeast Ohio President!
If you had told me years ago, back in my fine art classes surrounded by sketchbooks and paint, that I’d end up in the construction industry, I would have laughed. At the time, I didn’t even know this world existed. But now, I can’t imagine being anywhere else. This industry challenges and inspires, offering endless opportunities to combine creativity with purpose and to highlight what truly makes it exceptional — our people.
And that’s what SMPS is all about: people. It’s the community where we leave competition at the door and come together to share ideas, inspire each other, and connect in ways that make us all better. No matter your title, background, or years in the industry, you belong here. SMPS is for YOU. A place for fresh ideas, genuine connections, growth, and plenty of fun along the way.
This year, alongside an incredible Executive Board and dedicated committee members, we’re bringing you an SMPS experience that’s fresh, energizing, and built to help you succeed. Our theme, Beyond the Build: Delivering Value at Every Step, will guide everything we do through programs, events, and conversations designed to help you think bigger, build stronger relationships, and create lasting impact. You’ll see this come to life in dynamic membership events, hands-on community service, and opportunities to connect in meaningful ways.
At SMPS, we collaborate, spark new ideas, and push each other to think bigger. Every event is a chance to meet someone new, gain a fresh perspective, and leave with a story worth remembering long after the day is done.
