Building the Vision 2010 Team

Thursday, January 17, 2008

Margaret Hewitt, vice president of construction at University Hospitals, will present "Building the Vision 2010 Team." Vision 2010 is the most ambitious construction program in the 141-year history of University Hospitals. The estimated cost of the entire five-year program is more than $1 billion and is scheduled to conclude in 2010.

Vision 2010 projects include the construction of:

  • A new, free-standing 150-bed cancer hospital on the campus of University Hospitals’ Case Medical Center;
  • The University Hospitals’ Ahuja Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital to be built in phases at Chagrin Highlands in Beachwood;
  • The outpatient ambulatory medical center, the UH Twinsburg Health Center, located in Twinsburg and recently completed in October 2008.

Vision 2010 construction plans include the renovation and expansion of the Center for Emergency Medicine at UH Case Medical Center and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

Hewitt’s presentation will review the major components of University Hospital’s Vision 2010 construction program and discuss how the Vision 2010 program team, and each project team, was developed. She will not only review current program status, but also future program direction.
